Kyle Cox’s entrepreneurial journey began when he moved into his first home and felt taken advantage of by an antiquated, overpriced window covering industry that insisted custom blinds, shades, and shutters weren’t for DIYers. After paying a premium for professional installation, he realized he could do it himself and save a lot of money. Motivated to help other save money as well, he founded Blindster in 2010, bootstrapping the company from the ground up with no outside funding. Since then, Blindster has become one of the largest retailers of custom window treatments in the country.
