Mount type determines how you will install the blind. Choose inside mount if your blind will be mounted inside the window opening/frame. Choose outside mount if your blind will be mounted outside the window opening to trim, a wall, or a door.

Mount

Inside Mount Blinds will mount within the window opening. Provide the exact window opening dimensions. Our factory will automatically make width adjustments to ensure proper fit and operation.

Inside Mount

Outside Mount Blinds are ideal for mounting on to trim, a wall, or a door. Outside Mounts are also a good option for window openings that do not offer enough depth for an Inside Mount. 

Outside Mount

The headrail holds all of the blind's components together, including the mechanisms that allow the blind to function. It is often covered by a valance.

Let's make sure you have what you need! &nbsp;<ul><li>A&nbsp;metal tape measure</li><li>Pen and paper&nbsp;to record all measurements</li><li>Check if you have&nbsp;sufficient depth:&nbsp;Measure inside the window opening from the front to the back of the opening where the blind would mount.&nbsp;The depth must be at least 1 7/8”.&nbsp;To have a flush mount (fully recessed) the depth must be at least 3”.&nbsp;If your depth is not sufficient please see our&nbsp;outside mount&nbsp;instructions</li></ul>How to Measure:Let's start with the&nbsp;Width:<ul><li>Inside of the window opening/frame measure from left to right at the top of the opening, the middle of the opening, and then the bottom of the opening. Write down all 3 measurements and circle the narrowest. If rounding is necessary, round down to the nearest 1/8”. &nbsp;That is your ordering width.</li></ul>Now, let's do the&nbsp;Height:<ul><li>Inside of the window opening/frame measure from the top of the opening to the bottom of the opening/sill on the left-hand side, the middle, and on the right-hand side. Write down all 3 measurements and circle the tallest.&nbsp;That is your ordering height.</li></ul>Note: The factory will make the necessary deduction of approximately ¼" to your&nbsp;Width&nbsp;to account for movement in the window opening and to ensure that the valance will fit. No deductions will be made to your&nbsp;Height.

 How to Measure: Inside Mount 

Before you start measuring, decide whether you will mount on the window trim or above the window trim. Perhaps you are measuring for a door mount? We have instructions for that too! Please note that you must have 2" of flat space to mount the bracket on the trim. If you do not have sufficient space, you will need to mount to the side of your trim or above your trim.&nbsp;&nbsp;Let's make sure you have what you need! &nbsp;<ol><li>A&nbsp;metal tape measure</li><li>Pen and paper&nbsp;to record all measurements</li></ol>

Width:<ul><li>Measure from left to right at the top of your window on the outside of the trim. That is your ordering width.</li></ul>Height:&nbsp;<ul><li>Measure from the top of your trim to the bottom of your trim or your windowsill. That is your ordering height.</li></ul>

On The Trim

Width:<ul><li>Looking above your window trim, decide what area you would like to cover. Measure from left to right of that area and that is your ordering width.</li></ul>Height:&nbsp;<ul><li>Measure from the top (where you will mount the blind on the wall) to the bottom of your trim or windowsill. That is your ordering height.&nbsp;</li></ul>

Above The Trim

Width:<ul><li>Measure from the left of your trim piece that goes around the glass to the right of the trim piece. That is your ordering width, however, if you have space it is best to order the blind 1”-2" wider.</li></ul>Height:<ul><li>Measure from the top of your trim piece around the glass to the bottom of the trim piece at the bottom of the door. Take this measurement and add 3”-4". That is your ordering height.</li></ul>

How to Measure: Outside Mount 

A Blindster exclusive, these blinds are an exceptional value in faux wood! With the unique beveled edge slat design, slats close tighter and hold their shape through repeated use. The blind is incredibly lightweight, easy to maneuver, and requires zero hang cords to operate.  

Only negative is having to use a wand on a wide blind. Otherwise they have good clisure and are sturdy.
